Understanding core charges and how to return your core for a full refund.
Failure to return the core will result in your warranty being suspended. Cores returned after 30 days will decrease the warranty to 3 years and only 50% of the core value will be refunded.
Think of a core like the propane tank you swap at a hardware store: you pay for the full cylinder plus a deposit on the steel shell, use the gas, then bring back the empty tank to get your deposit back.
| Key Idea | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Like-for-Like Unit | The returned part must be the same model as the one you purchased. |
| Rebuildable Condition | Internals are intact and repairable - no holes, shattered gears, or missing parts. |
| Complete Assembly | All internal components need to be intact. Accessories can be removed. |
| Fluid-Drained & Crated | Fluid is drained, major openings capped, secured in the original shipping crate. |
A core charge is a temporary, refundable amount added to the purchase price of a remanufactured or rebuilt auto part. It's a recycling deposit that encourages customers to return their worn-out core.
